MFK Digital – delivering much more than print MFK DIGITAL is the trading name of the MFK Group of companies, based in Gunnels Wood Road, Stevenage. MFK Digital is a leading provider of digital printing services, from conception of content to printing and distribution of products. Our Gunnels Wood Road offices occupy 3 modern, purpose-built units in a prime location close to the A1(M), with 45,000 square feet of warehouse space available. The company was founded in 1978 in Saffron Walden, Essex as MFK Typesetting. The early days focused on traditional typesetting. The core business was typesetting loose-leaf reference works (encyclopaedias) and other books including cookery, gardening and general interest titles. MFK Digital developed into a specialist, short-run printing business and this soon became its core service offering. A bookbinding company was acquired in 1999 to add to the Group’s extensive range of services. MFK DIGITAL signed an agreement with Canon in 2007 to install high-tech, leading edge digital printing equipment, including a top of the range digital colour printer and 7 monochrome digital printing machines which have a combined capacity to handle 750,000 images per day. This is backed by sophisticated software allowing for the personalisation of printed documents and books by the use of variable data. Although MFK Digital’s traditional customer base has centred on the legal publishing sector, the comprehensive facilities now available mean it can offer services to companies of all types and sizes – any business where high quality print and fulfilment services are required. This can now extend to members of the public, with new developments in the personal photobook and gift markets.
